The next club might live between a screen and a room.

Electronic music has always needed a room. For a long time that room had a door, a floor, a sound system that could be felt in the chest. The image around it was secondary: a flyer, a light, a photograph taken too late.

Something has shifted. Sound now arrives already carrying a picture of itself. A track is a still, a sequence, a space that can be entered without travel. The club has not disappeared. It has thinned. It lives in the delay between a headphone and a wall.

SIGNAL is interested in that delay. In work that treats image not as promotion but as material. In artists who compose for rooms that may never be booked, and for rooms that still insist on being physical.

The new electronic imagination is not a genre. It is a way of holding sound long enough for it to leave a trace.
